Paddle-Pedal-Run

We are excited to announce our first Paddle Pedal Run event at Lake Christopher.  This 50th anniversary tri-activity is family friendly with light hearted competition.

We welcome both solo/individual, or group  (relay style, each person taking a leg of the race) participation.

We encourage all participants to be as creative as they want with any themed apparel (Hawaiian shirts, tutus, crowns, whatever you can perform safely in while adding a bit of humor and fun!)

• Registration: Click on the Registration sign above.  Assemble your team (if planning to enter as a group) and start training!  Don't forget to recruit support person(s) to help you in the transition areas.
• When: Saturday, June 22nd , 2024
• Where: Starting at Christopher Narrows, 1744 Lake Christopher Drive, and ending at Christopher Landing, 1536 Lake Christopher Drive.
• Start time: 9:00am

PADDLE from the dock at Christopher Narrows to the beach at Christopher Landing on your paddleboard, kayak or any human powered water craft of your choosing

• PADDLE distance approx. 680 yards (.4 statute miles)
• PADDLE participants must be 12 and up
• You must provide your own paddleboard, kayak etc.
• Personal floatation device required
• Parking is limited at the Narrows, please plan accordingly. 

Paddle to Pedal Transition Area: Christopher Landing sandy beach,

and boat ramp turning area.

PEDAL your human powered bike 3 times around the lake on Lake Christopher Drive (returning to the parking lot at Christopher Landing)

• PEDAL distance approx. 4.1 statute miles.
• You must provide your own human powered bike
• Helmet required
• Roads will not be closed, please exercise safety!

RUN once around the lake on Lake Christopher Drive, ending at the finish line at the Christopher Landing entrance gate.

• RUN distance approx. 1.4 statute miles.

Afternoon Picnic

WHEN?

Saturday, June 22nd , 2024 (2:00pm - 7:00pm)

WHERE?

Christopher Landing, 1536 Lake Christopher Drive.

Come out and enjoy a wonderful day with your family and meet your neighbors  •  Play games •   Volleyball • swim, visit, relax •  Bring lawn chairs, blankets, drinking water • sunscreen •  Don’t miss this celebration!!!

SCHEDULE

9:00 – 11:00     Paddle, Pedal, Run (separate registration)

2:00 – 3:00       Picnic check in, get ticket for door prizes

2:00 – 4:00       Games and activities 

4:00 – 5:00       Sandwich or hot dog, chips, lemonade

5:00 – 6:00       Watermelon, sweet treats

6:00 – 7:00       Virginia Beach Mounted Police

Games and activities include face painting, Garden club table, raffles, Fairfield florist (make a dried flower bookmark) 

Tickets are free, but you need to register. You will receive your tickets for food and door prizes at Picnic Check-in the day of the event.
